A recent study from Switzerland that was conducted by scientists has shown that men’s full beards have more germs than the fur of an average dog. That’s just gross! This is why it’s really good to hug dogs rather than people. They are clean, and they will love you, unconditionally. So Conan O’Brien and his team took this study and used it for a great skit idea for their show.

Their idea was to replace anyone in the studio who had a full beard, with dogs. Sounds reasonable, right? Since dogs are cleaner, they will replace the men with full beards, even those in the audience! But if you watch a lot of Conan O’Brien’s shows, you’d know that they often include the audience in the skits and sometimes they put in an actor to pretend to be part of the audience.

Conan then sends his “Beard Extraction Unit,” which is an actor wearing a poorly made HazMat suit to remove any bearded men in the audience. He walks past a bearded guy, but that man was an actual audience member. He then proceeds to pick one guy, who is, of course, an actor to be removed. Seconds later, a cute dachshund was brought in as the man’s replacement.

Understandably, people in the audience went “aww” upon the sight of a cute dog. It’s actually a genius idea, too bad they can’t do it every time. Next up was one of the camera crew who was sporting a full beard. He left, and then a goldendoodle stepped in to work the camera in his stead. It was pretty hilarious as the dog looked like he was really doing camerawork.

The third part of the skit was supposed to be a golden retriever who had a beard, a fake one, of course. But the problem was, the pooch decided to remove the prop from his snout. Conan couldn’t stop laughing as he said they practiced nine times and the dog kept the beard on, but when it was showtime, he decided to quit. see the hilarious skit below.
